DOUGLASVILLE PLANT'S SAFETY RECORD - EXCELLENT

For the past two years, the Douglasville plant has had an excellent safety record. While the facility has gone through many great changes in management and facility development, safety has remained a focus for the employees and management.

The team in Douglasville has not had a lost time accident in two years (2000 and 2001). They have been recognized by the NPCA in 2000 and will receive another award for their safety record in 2001 at the MCX convention in Indianapolis this February. In addition to not having a lost time accident for two years, the facility had zero accidents and zero trips to a medical facility for work related injury in 2001. This has resulted in a much-improved workplace and all eligible employees have received 100% of their Safety Bonus for the year.

Recognition should be given to Rick Styles, all supervisors and employees for their efforts in following safety policies and placing such an emphasis on safety in their daily work. Additionally the plant's safety committee should be recognized for providing good information and solutions to safety concerns. They have made it very easy for management to identify and control hazards in the workplace.

Once again, congratulations to the Douglasville plant.

FOUR PLANTS MAINTAIN NPCA PLANT CERTIFICATION

NPCA Certified PlantAtlantic Precast Industries now has four (4) plants certified under the National Precast Concrete Association’s Plant Certification program. This certification program assures architects, engineers and other users that the precast products supplied by Atlantic Industries meet the highest production and quality control standards and are manufactured according to exact and uncompromising requirements.

When the National Precast Concrete Association first developed this certification program, management at Atlantic Precast of Cockeysville, Maryland recognized that this type of program would be a beneficial tool to assist engineers and other specifiers who wanted to be assured that their precast products would be of the highest caliber.

The Cockeysville, Maryland facility was one of the first precast plants to be certified by the NPCA and has carried that certification ever since. With time more agencies have begun to require plant certification.

This ultimately lead to Atlantic Precast of Tullytown, Pennsylvania attaining certification in 1995 and Atlantic Precast of Sarasota, Florida in 1996. Our latest plant to gain certification is Atlantic Precast of Douglasville, Georgia which was certified in August of 2001.

Atlantic has always been and will always be an industry leader in products and performance and to that end plant certification is good for the industry and therefore good for our company.

Channel personnel configure forming equipment to the particular arrangement of pipe entries in each manhole base. An overhead monorail will provide 1 yard batches of concrete to each base. Care is taken, as each bench is hand troweled and broom finished. The completed Channel provides for a laminar flow of liquids through the structure. none
