Volume 2, Issue 1
Improvements continue to be made at the Douglasville facility. Recently, Rick Styles and his staff completed the addition of a new two compartment truck aggregate hopper and a new kiln with a new 1.4 million Btu Weldon steam generator (pictured right); both of these projects have significantly decreased the labor required to produce our finished product. A dry-cast grade ring manufacturing machine (pictured below) has also been installed, and this site will be responsible for manufacturing precast grade adjustment rings for both the Florida and Georgia markets. Plans have been approved by Atlantic management and permits received from the city for the construction of a new office building at this site. The office building will be identical in layout to the Cockeysville office as far as the exterior design and much of the interior design. As of the middle of October the lot had been cleared and graded and the building slab had been framed. Contract construction time for completion is estimated to be six months, but we hope ("God willing and the creek don’t rise" – Joe Coale) our contractor will be able to have construction completed sooner.
